Client settings

The exact incoming and outgoing hostnames, ports, and encryption settings depend on the shared hosting server configuration. Retrieve them from DirectAdmin or the hosting welcome information. Use these principles:
  • Prefer IMAP for synchronized access across devices.
  • Use TLS-enabled ports.
  • Authenticate SMTP with the full email address.
  • Do not disable certificate verification.
  • Keep the mailbox password separate from the customer account password.

DNS requirements

Mail delivery can depend on MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records. Preserve the records generated by the hosting environment unless a planned migration requires changes.
